Dr. Mitch A. Zale

Meet the friendly staff at Crow Hill Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. Mitch A. Zale

Dr. Zale is a Colorado native and graduated from Evergreen High School in 1977. In the 80s he attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He received a bachelor's degree in Microbiology in 1984 and DVM in 1988. Dr. Zale worked at Mission Viejo Animal Hospital after graduation. He started Pet Clinic, in Fort Collins, in 1990 and built a three-doctor practice from scratch. The clinic worked closely with the Larimer County Humane Society, starting an early spay program that reduced the stray animal population to 7,590 in the Fort Collins / Loveland area. The clinic was sold in 2001 and Dr. Zale moved back to Evergreen.

From 2001 to 2007 he had a relief veterinary business that provided service to 15 clinics in the Denver Metro, allowing other Veterinarians an ability to take time off. Dr. Zale took a staff time associate position at Broadview Animal Clinic, an 8-doctor practice in Denver from 2008- 2021. Dr. Zale is a skilled surgeon and clinician. He enjoys skiing, golf, hiking, and biking. He is passionate about his three dogs and three cats and his daughter Autumn who supervises Beau Jo’s Restaurant in Evergreen. Dr Zale lived on Shadow Mountain from 2001-2021 with his wife of 30 years, Lisa. Lisa died of ovarian cancer in 2019. He now lives in Morrison, near Tiny Town.
